'New Moon' movie

According to ShockTillYouDrop.com, it's still a rumor but producer Wyck Godfrey confirmed that it's on the plans:

"The goal is, we've got the [sequel] script ready to go and come December we want to shoot it for about the same time - for the weather and stuff we don't want to be in the heat of the winter. Obviously, you know the next book and know we can go out into the sun a little bit more. Hopefully, we'll have it ready to go and ready to start prepping for the beginning of next year."

Also, I want Catherine to be the director again.

Discuss or just squee like the fangirl inside all of us.

I wonder what they're going to do to please the E/B fangirls when/if this movie gets made...

Obviously, we all know that the ending is E/B, but still, there's a LOT of J/B (and OMG, they'd better not cut any of their cute, little moments out!) in the 2nd book! I can't wait :)

Gah, I can't believe that I just said that.

I wonder, too. I can already see all the angst/dramatic scenes they'll write for Edward on the movie just so they don't waste Rob with 15min screen-time. I'll just about kill myself when if they do that.

And I want lots and lots of garage quality time, okay? Okay.

Maybe they'll even do scenes where they don't just show Bella's pain at Edward's departure, but his own pain...I dunno, as long as they keep that interesting AND don't cut out any (or too much, anyway) J/B-time, I'll be content, I suppose! In any case, apparently New Moon is Rob's favorite book, so he probably wouldn't really mind all that much about not being a constant presence (although, I guess he kinda still is...).

But then, what if the J/B scenes don't live up to my own imagined expectations?! Ack. Whatever. I'll just take whatever J/B that I can get, I guess!

Haha, a lot of this should've been more of an internal sort of thing...sorry :)

An easy way would be to upgrade Bella's hallucinations of Edward's voice to full visions. That gives Edward/Rob face time, but changes nothing from the book. I also like the idea of them showing Edward tracking James and being in South America and so on; they could show the scene (which Meyer has on her website) of him getting the fateful call from Rosalie. I think in the first film they are planning to deviate from Bella's POV for some scenes, so they can do it in "New Moon" too.

I'd like it better if they only made her hear his voice. I don't know, I think that if he actually appears would be a little weird? Like, she's really losing it. Just the voice is better than visions, imo. Makes her look slightly less crazy, lolz.

But yeah, the movie won't be all about Bella's POV so I see the need for some Edward angst in South America and especially the phone call from Rosalie.

They'll probably show his face when shes hallucinating.

I can see them doing some short interlude shots of Edward doing his angst-thang in South America.

He'll sit under a tree and it pans across a forest and finally lands on him looking so depressed for maybe 2 seconds.

I think it would be great to see some little scenes of Edward and the Cullens away from Bella, but srsly, if they cut into my J/B screentime too much I'll fucking send them like... anthrax envelopes.

Ee, I'm so excited about them making the movie full of J/B! I can just imagine KStew and Taycob being adorable together. (And then RPattz attempting to commit suicide by sparkling in public. Heh.)

I wonder if they'll have like GHOST!ROB standing over her shoulder and telling her what to do...
or will there be like...
GHOST!ROB's BOOMING VOICE yelling at her???

Anyone who didn't read the books and still ends up in the theatre is going to think the girl has gone flipping insane and isn't just 'insanely in love'.

*eyeroll*

But yes I am excited :P

omg if they don't keep catherine as the director I will die. The last few Harry Potter films have been SLAUGHTERED (IMO) because of so many different directors.

I agree. I loved Alfonso Cuaron, but I'm not a huge fan of Yates, and Chris Columbus is a journeyman plain and simple. The LOTR films, by contrast, had such a huge benefit from being done by one director under a unified creative vision. So I hope they do keep the director the same for the Twilight films. Plus, it's nice to have a major franchise being directed by a woman; that's not typical in Hollyweird.

Yes yes YES! Keep Catherine, please. Switching directors only makes the movies look detatched from each other, like it happened with HP.
